Day 1

Arrival & Transfer to Mabamba Swamp for Shoebill Birding

Upon arrival in Entebbe, transfer to Mabamba Swamp, a prime location for spotting the elusive Shoebill Stork. Enjoy a guided canoe birding experience before heading to Kampala for an overnight stay.
Depart for Kibale Forest, one of Uganda’s top birding destinations. Stop along the way for birdwatching opportunities before arriving at the park in the afternoon. Take a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, home to over 200 bird species.

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – The Home of the Green-breasted Pitta

Full-Day Birding in Kibale & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Embark on a morning birding walk in Kibale Forest, searching for the Green-breasted Pitta, African Pitta, and Black Bee-eater. After lunch, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you'll enjoy an evening game and birding drive.
Start with a morning drive through the Kasenyi Plains, a great spot for raptors and savannah birds like the Martial Eagle and Black-chested Snake Eagle. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to spot waterbirds like the African Skimmer and Great White Pelican.

Day 5

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Birding Along the Way

Depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, birding en route through Ishasha, where you may spot tree-climbing lions alongside birds like the Crowned Hornbill and Ross’s Turaco. Arrive in the afternoon for an introductory birding session near your lodge.
Spend the day in the Ruhija sector, home to rare Albertine Rift endemics such as the African Green Broadbill, Handsome Francolin, and Rwenzori Batis. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing with an afternoon birding session.

Full-Day Birding in Bwindi’s Ruhija Sector

Day 7

Return to Entebbe & Departure

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Entebbe with birding stops along the way. Enjoy lunch in Mbarara before reaching Entebbe for your flight home.
