Day 1

Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon arrival in Kigali, your safari guide will warmly welcome you and brief you about your trip. You’ll then embark on a scenic drive to Akagera National Park in eastern Rwanda. Along the way, enjoy countryside views and local village life. Once at the park, check in to your lodge and relax with the sounds of nature around you. If time permits, enjoy a short evening drive around the park’s perimeter.
Wake up early for a full day of thrilling wildlife viewing in Rwanda’s largest protected wetland and savannah ecosystem. Traverse the park’s varied terrain in search of elephants, lions, zebras, buffalos, giraffes, antelopes, and the elusive leopard. With lunch in the park, you’ll explore both the northern and southern circuits before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Game Drive in Akagera National Park

Day 3

Morning Boat Safari – Afternoon Game Drive or Lodge Leisure

Begin your day with a tranquil boat safari on Lake Ihema, known for its large pods of hippos, basking crocodiles, and abundant birdlife, including African fish eagles and kingfishers. In the afternoon, you can opt for a shorter game drive or relax at your lodge while enjoying scenic views over the water or bushveld.
After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, you may take an optional Kigali city tour, visiting sites like the Kigali Genocide Memorial or local artisan markets. Your guide will then transfer you to the airport for your onward journey or flight home.
